We saw the debut trailer for the eighth installment of the Saw franchise just last week during Comic Con, and fan excitement is still hot, leading to new theories and fan-made trailers about the upcoming film.

The first trailer introduced new characters and delivered the overall concept of yet another Jigsaw copycat. This fan trailer surfaced soon after really amps up the and plays on the original working title, Saw: Legacy. Not only that, it fills in some gaps by referencing where the franchise left off in 2010 with Saw 3D: The Final Chapter.

The trailer's focus on the legacy of the Jigsaw killer is interesting, seeing how the official trailer was aimed more at the traps and the police trying to uncover yet another Jigsaw copycat.

The core of this fan trailer at John Kramer reminds fans of his marriage to Jill Tuck, as well as the task he gave his third apprentice, Dr. Gordon, to basically avenge her death should it happen at all. If you remember the events in Saw 3D: The Final Chapter, you should know exactly how that turned out.

For me personally, this fan trailer has more of a feeling than the official trailer did. The editing is even more similar in style to the previous films, and the references to Detective Hoffman and Dr. Gordon are intriguing. Even though it has been said neither character (or actor) would be appearing in Jigsaw, it would be a good idea to give some reference for closure. That is something the official trailer didn't imply at all.

Just in case you missed the official trailer, check it out right here.

No matter what happens, we don't have much longer to wait for the games to begin as Jigsaw hits theaters on October 27, 2017. The film is directed by Peter and Michael Spierig and stars Mandela Van Peebles, Laura Vandervoort, Brittany Allen, Callum Keith Rennie, Matt Passmore, Hannah Emily Anderson, Josiah Black, Shaquan Lewis, Michael Bolsvert, and James Gomez.
