For those of you that don’t know, there is a new Jumanji movie lurking on the horizon starring Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan. Those of you who hate reboots have nothing to worry about since Mr. “The Rock” Johnson has assured fans that it’s not a reboot. Other than that, not much is known about the film from director Jake Kasdan other than it is based on a movie inspired by a popular children’s book about a board game that brings magical jungle threats into the real world for the players to deal with.

That is, until this photo recently surfaced revealing the cast in costume in what appears to be a jungle setting.

Some were quick to point out that Gillan’s costume was a bit tight and small, to which she replied on twitter, “Yes I'm wearing child sized clothes and YES there is a reason! The pay off is worth it, I promise!”

Ah, so what could this reason be?

Well, I theorize that it’s because Gillan is a child who was sucked into the game while playing, much like Robin Williams's character was previously. In this take on Jumanji, she assumes the form of one of the characters from the game itself. How else do you explain a character name like Ruby Roundhouse? Of course, Johnson, Hart and Black have equally ridiculous character names, Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Moose Finbar and Professor Shelly Oberon, respectively.

This would explain the mysterious tweet from Gillan and her tiny outfit. It would also make this portrayal of the game different from its predecessor without ignoring it completely, and allow for all the actors to flex their comedic muscles.

Of course, the cast has a lot to live up to after the memorable performance that Williams delivered back in 1995:

So, what do you think? Are all the characters in the new Jumanji going to be a bunch of kids forced to grow up way too fast? Or is there some other explanation? Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Are these characters going to be kids stuck in 'Jumanji'?
