True Blood Season 7 has been given the green light, but will it be the last series of all? Showrunner commented that True Blood's demise was on the table, telling TVLine:
I’m being told that I will know, which doesn’t mean that I will tell everybody. But I will know when the writers resume in the room [next month] whether or not we’re wrapping it up or not.
There is the question of True Blood's falling ratings, but the finale for Season 6 still pulled over 4 million viewers, so this is all very relative: most other shows would be lucky to pull such a number. Should True Blood be penalised for simply not delivering quite the epic highs of its previous ratings?
, HBO President of Programming, has promised that True Blood will stick to our screens 'as long as there are stories to tell'.
There's certainly a lot to wrap up following Season 6 - Eric's () fate is undecided, Bill () is lovelorn, vampires and humans are joining forces, the Hep V-infected are invading Sookie's () hometown and Pam () is just AWOL...
With over a dozen of Charlaine Harris' True Blood books to draw inspiration from, and another - After Dead - forthcoming October 29 2013, it seems that there is still material to draw tell us what Sookie did next, but can the show sustain fan interest?
