You never know from which far-flung galaxy in the universe the next great star may emerge. Overwrought metaphors? We've got 'em! Still, I still find this latest casting news from ' Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens to be interesting. No, it has nothing to do with any of the Hollywood power players rumored to be in the hunt for the coveted roles. It seems that Disney/Lucasfilm is allowing fans to audition for the film online! Apparently, as reported by the BBC, an open casting call over the weekend in the UK drew so many hopefuls that the lines had to be cut short and many were sent home. They found the lack of facetime with the casting agents...disturbing

Now, the studios have announced that folks can submit audition videos online via Cast It Talent. Who in particular are they looking for?

"Producers are looking to cast two lead roles for Star Wars: Episode VII - a 'street smart' girl in her late teens and a 'smart, capable' man in his early 20s."

If you think you have what it takes, I'd say you have nothing to lose by submitting a video. I do wonder how seriously these submissions will be considered and how much of this is just an appeasing of the angry mob. That being said, there has been a lot of speculation that the children of Luke Skywalker as well as those of Han and Leia will be a primary focus of Episode VII. Could this be your chance to audition for those leads?

What do you guys think?
