Although it's only been a month since Newt Scamander's briefcase flew open to reveal a menagerie of magical beasts, it seems that we're already getting details about what secrets the second instalment of J. K. Rowling's wizarding franchise might conceal.
The sequel to #FantasticBeasts is heading to our cinema screens in 2018 and already the pieces of the puzzle regarding the action are gradually coming together.
For starters, we know that the movie will partially take place in Paris a few years after Newt's famous textbook is published in Britain, and that we haven't seen the last of Credence Barebone. However, it was a momentary leak over at IMDb a few days ago that accidentally revealed the following plot detail:
“Newt tries to move on, but Leta keeps turning up when he least expects it. After a while, he realizes she is only there to tell him about Dumbledore, who needs to defeat Grindelwald.”
Just minutes after the synopsis slipped out, it was swiftly removed from the movie database website — but not before the hawk-eyed Potterheads over at The Leaky Cauldron were able to save the information.

Ultimately, it's not a huge surprise that Leta Lestrange will feature more in #FantasticBeasts2. After all, we've known for a while that actress Zoë Kravitz would be playing a major role in the upcoming sequel as she was one of the first confirmed in the casting.
However, what we didn't know is that she might actually have connections to Albus Dumbledore himself — although whether she will be working with the great wizard is yet to be discovered.
What's The Connection Between Dumbledore And Newt?
As for Albus Dumbledore's relationship with Scamander, we already know that they knew each other relatively well. After all, this is largely considering the Professor argued so hard against the Magizoologist's expulsion from Hogwarts — let's not forget the interaction Percival Graves/Grindelwald had with Newt after his capture by MACUSA:
Although nothing is set in stone quite yet, Dumbledore's interest in Newt might largely come down to the fact that he knows a lot about Obscurials, especially following the traumatic events that occurred in New York with Grindelwald and Credence.
Additionally, Newt has proven himself to be the only one who has shown the ability to keep an Obscurus alive after its host has died. As the dark wizard is obsessed with harnessing the power of the Obscurus, it's vital that Dumbledore utilizes Scamander's knowledge and expertise in the field.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2 reveals itself in theatres on November 16, 2018.
