Not many can argue the commanding presence of Oscar winner . Whether she's taking us inside the mind of a notorious serial killer, or bringing us into a post-Apocalyptic landscape, she's never shied away from giving her absolute best to the audience. And now she's gearing up to do it once again in upcoming action/thriller .

A new poster for the movie was released today, a simple piece that is striking in its black and white simplicity.

Given her recent scene-stealing performances in films like Mad Max: Fury Road and The Huntsman: Winter's War, it's no wonder she's considered one of the most bankable actresses of the current age. But why should this film end up on our radar? More than a few reasons, actually.

First Of All, It's Charlize Freaking Theron

When it comes to leading ladies of the silver screen, it's really hard to name anyone more badass than Charlize Theron. Her role in Fury Road gave us chills; she was perfect. Forget Tom Hardy and whomever the heck he was playing, that movie was all about some Furiosa. And it's really not all that hard to see why people adored her character so much. It was a performance that planted Furiosa's character along the lines of Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley and Sarah Michelle Gellar's Buffy Summers. And from the synopsis of Atomic Blonde, this is a role she was born to play:

The crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Lorraine Broughton (Theron), a woman who is equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission. Sent alone into Berlin to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilized city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.

Her future with films like the upcoming will only cement that status and keep proving to the world that times are changing and in the words of Hillary Clinton, "the future is female." And boy, are we so beyond ready for that.

Just Take A Look At That Stellar Cast

We've got names like James McAvoy (X-Men: Apocalypse), John Goodman (Kong: Skull Island, The Big Lebowski), Toby Jones (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Sofia Boutella (The Mummy, Kingsman: The Secret Service) and Eddie Marsan (Hancock, V For Vendetta). That's definitely something worthwhile to boast about. Assembling one of the finest casts I've seen so far this year is no small feat. And it's even more so when it's been done for an indie feature adapted from a graphic novel.

The Director Is Rather Familiar With The Genre

In addition to being half of the directing duo behind the Keanu Reeves hit , Atomic Blonde director David Leitch also recently offered his services to helm the upcoming . Anyone who's seen his work on John Wick knows all too well the kind of action and humor he brings to a film. Not only does he beautifully do so, he manages to do it without letting a film become a total let down, as such was the case with the poorly received Taken franchise. (Sorry, Liam Neeson)

The film is set to debut on March 12, 2017 at South by Southwest, and Theron's performance alone sure to knock the socks off anyone in the audience. I can't wait.

'Atomic Blonde' hits theaters on July 28, 2017. Will you be checking out Theron's latest venture into badassness?
