It's been a while since we've seen Sir step into a crime thriller, but he's returning to the world of grisly murder and intrigue in 2014's Solace. The film is an indie, supernatural thriller with Hopkins on the right side of the law this time, rather than doing Hannibal Lecter-esque things like wearing skin masks and eating 's brain with a nice chianti.

Hopkins will be playing a psychic detective who is drawn out of retirement to help crack one gruesome case (naturally), alongside a jaded, veteran FBI agent () and his ambitious new partner, played by fresh-faced . , who has become quite adept over the years at playing villains, will be playing the serial killer who happens to have supernatural powers of his own.

Principal photography is wrapping up in Atlanta this week with director , and he's been fascinated by the concept since he read the script:

This film has the perfect balance of structure, story and strong characters. I was particularly attracted to the opportunity to explore the cinematic potential of the script and to step into the mind's eye of someone with psychic abilities, played by Anthony Hopkins, and visualize what he sees. Working with Tony, Jeff, Abbie and Colin has been a dream, and I couldn't ask for a better crew to bring it all together.

THR unveiled a first look at Hopkins, Morgan, and Cornish on set:

I'm pretty excited about this one. It boasts a great cast, and an interesting twist on the cop-and-killer story. Plus, I have to root for indie films to do well, especially ambitious ones such as this.
