Some men are born to sport a mustache. is one of them. Apart from bristling on-screen intensity and a nice paunch, the Academy Award winner (Traffic) likes to endow his performances with a good soup strainer, if the role allows for it.

In Escobar: Paradise Lost Del Toro plays notorious real-life drug baron Pablo Escobar, a role that not only 'allows' for a bit of stache, it forcefully demands it, armed with a Kalashnikov!

Above you see the first look (via The Film Stage) of Del Toro in the role. It might be true, that in the movie some sort of Paradise is indeed lost, but I am sure an iconic screen mustache is gained.

The actor was already gunning for the 'stache of the year' award with 's crime thriller Savages. Sadly the movie didn't live up to Del Toro's excited lip squirrel and the thesp had to up his game. Voilà Pablo Escobar!
