Fury, the / team-up, is one of my most anticipated films set for a release next year. The war drama boasts a stellar cast, and Ayer has done excellent work with his gritty, dark scripts for police dramas Training Day and End of Watch, so I'm interested to see what he brings to the table with a more expansive script.

The first photo has been released, and, much like Ayer favors, is dark and intense.

'Fury' is set at the very end of World War II, in April 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theater, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

Fury also stars (who has previously worked with Ayer before in End of Watch), along with , , and .

The film is set for a release next November, so expect it to potentially pick up some Oscar buzz. We'll bring you more news as it drops.
