American Horror Story is known for taking inspiration from real-life horrors and Season 7 is definitely not shying away from this. This season, Ryan Murphy has given fan-favorite Evan Peters his "most challenging" role yet, by announcing that Peters would be playing not one, but six different cult leaders in Season 7.

From a troubled ghost to a wealthy aristocrat, Evan Peters has done it all over the course of the show, but six characters in one season? Never! We recently saw Evan Peters play the famous artist Andy Warhol, and now Peters is set to tackle the role of perhaps the most notorious cult leader in history — Charles Milles Manson.

Back when American Horror Story first started airing, Ryan Murphy expressed that he would like to incorporate Charles Manson and the brutal acts that he and his followers committed, but felt that the timing wasn't right. Well, he certainly has changed his tune. Murphy recently shared the first image of as Charles Manson on his Instagram, and all we can say is that the resemblance to Manson is quite shocking:

Spooky! It's as if Evan Peters was destined to play Charles Manson. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Charles Manson — fire up your search engine and be prepared for the . However, if you don't have the time, don't worry, here are the basics:

In the 1960s, Charles Manson became the leader of the Manson Family, a commune of dedicated followers — or what many people today refer to as a cult. Manson had a vision of an apocalyptic war arising from racial tensions between black people and white people, which he told his followers was "Helter Skelter."

On August 9, 1969, the Charles Manson ordered the Family to commit perhaps the most brutal and notorious killing in Hollywood, a.k.a. the Tate murders. On that day, the Manson Family killed actress Sharon Tate (who was eight months pregnant) and four other people. In total, the Manson Family murdered nine people during the 1960s and are also responsible for an attempted assassination of President Gerald Ford and various other assaults. Charles Manson is still serving his life imprisonment as a result of his crimes.

A true American Horror Story, am I right? Evan Peters certainly has a big pair of insane shoes to fill, but he will no doubt hit the role out of the park. In even more exciting news, it is also heavily rumored that fellow American Horror Story alumni will be making an appearance this season. Perhaps Rabe will take on the role as the late actress Sharon Tate in a flashback? Only time will tell!
