Jurassic World gave us a different side of the #JurassicPark franchise, as it explored the military potential of genetically-modified dinosaurs. Upon release, the film surpassed expectations and became an unexpected hit, as it earned an astounding $1.6 billion on a $123 million budget. With such success, a sequel was inevitable, and naturally, Universal announced it almost immediately.
That became #JurassicWorld2, which is once again being helmed by Colin Trevorrow. While we are still over a year away from once again watching dinosaurs crush everyone around them on the big screen, the director has given us our first look at the sequel through Twitter:
The picture was captioned with:
"Walking in giant footsteps."
Something worthy to note is that the girl in the picture might not be just a random museum visitor. Last year, Universal put out a casting call for a new main character, a 9-year-old girl named Lucy. The description reads:
"She must be a sensitive and clever actress capable of handling long and complex scenes. Lucy must be able to handle a range of emotions from tender moments with her father, to anxiety, bravery, and shock."
So it looks like we should expect a new awesome character for the sequel.

Aside from that, we know very little about the sequel. However, it's been confirmed that Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and B.D. Wong will be returning as Owen Grady, Claire Dearing and Henry Wu respectively. If you can't wait to see the the film, Jurassic World 2 when it hits theaters on June 22, 2018.
