With a release date just set, the -starring 3 Days to Kill will provide all your action-thiller needs next Valentine's Day, February 14th, 2014. Hey, who said government hit men and terminal diseases couldn't be romantic?!

Above is your first look at Costner in the movie, looking suitably menacing and packing heat, thanks to a EuropaCorp catalog (via Indie Wire).

The McG-directed movie, with a writing credit from Taken, Leon and The Fifth Element's , offers us a synopsis following Costner as a Secret Service agent, who discovers he is dying from a terminal illness and decides to retire in order to reconnect with his estranged daughter (). plays a character who offers Costner access to an experimental drug that could save his life in exchange for one final assignment.

The mishmash of an appealing Taken-veined plot and an unobjectionable cast does make Three Days to Kill intriguing, but there's also some skepticism in my equation largely due to McG, who was responsible for sketchy movies like Charlie's Angels.

How does Three Days to Kill sound to you?
