While Marvel has perfected the cinematic universe on film, DC has been doing an incredible job with the Arrowverse on TV. It all started out with #Arrow in 2012, which spun-off #TheFlash and #LegendsofTomorrow. This year, The CW acquired #Supergirl from CBS. So now, we have four incredible superhero shows crossing over with each other on a regular basis.
Black Lightning will be the fifth Arrowverse series, and will be produced by the creative minds of Greg Berlanti, Salim Akil, Mara Brock Akil, and Sarah Schechter. The show is currently in production in Atlanta, and now The CW has given us the first glimpse at actor Cress Williams as the DC Comics character Black Lightning.
First Look At Black Lightning
You may know Cress Williams from Hart of Dixie. The Black Lightning costume, meanwhile, is the work of Laura Jean Shannon, an accomplished designer who previously worked on Iron Man, Scott Pilgrim, Preacher, and The Jungle Book.
I think the costume looks fantastic. Shannon applied a new and sleek look to the comic book character, which will most likely look amazing on-screen. This suit looks similar to some of the other Arrowverse costumes, and will blend in perfectly. The different shades of blue, grey, and black combined with a sweet visor all make for a pretty awesome costume.

The show, as THR has reported, is described as follows: "Based on the DC Comics character, Black Lightning centers on Jefferson Pierce, a former superhero who hung up his suit and secret identity. However, he is pulled back into the fight when one daughter becomes hell-bent on justice and the other, a star student, who is recruited by a local gang."
