Winter isn't coming because it's already here. However, the fantastic news is that when winter is finally over, the first episode of the upcoming Game of Thrones season will be here with spring. The new season of the grand-scale saga is expected early next year and thanks to HBO, we can take a first glimpse at the official footage. It is only a brief, but powerful first look, hinting that the new season is going to be just as exciting as the previous ones.
In the 8-second teaser Game of Thrones season 4, we get a glimpse at our most beloved and most hated characters (everyone should decide individually which one for themselves): a flash of Tyrion () in chains, a short look at the clean-shaven (and golden-handed?) Jamie Lannister () reading the Kingsguard book, a glance at a sour looking Joffrey (), and a peek at a hopeful Sansa ().
Take a look at the short clip here, that was embedded in the network's year end trailer:
Season 3 ended with some serious cliffhangers (a lot of Starks were massacred and Khalessi recruited the dauntless Unsullied Army), so I personally am dying to know what happens next.
The show is adapted from the best-selling fantasy book series by George R.R. Martin, Game Of Thrones. It is set in the fantastical lands of Westeros and Essos and features seven noble families' battle for the Iron Throne and supreme power. Game of Thrones season 4 is scheduled to air on HBO early 2014.
Are you excited about what happens next in Game of Thrones season 4? What events do you think the teaser hints at? Why does Joffrey look angry and why does Sansa look hopeful?
