Found footage is a visual aesthetic in film that tends to be rather divisive. Some people really enjoy the chaos and the lack of a fourth wall safety net. While others find themselves suffering motion sickness at the lack of steady photography.
For me, it's simply a matter of how well the gimmick fits the material. I tend to be more forgiving in instances that involve found footage being applied to genres other than horror; 's Chronicle for example. I think that's partially why I was interested in this first trailer for the film Project Almanac. Produced by , the film follows a group of teens who discover time travel and film themselves using it to their advantage.
I guess it looks interesting enough, but it devolves into cliche pretty quickly. "Oh no, we've changed things in the past and it has had negative consequences!" Yeah, ok.
