It’s been a while since we’ve heard about this one.

Almost two years ago we reported that and could unite for the very first time in a motion picture. The cause for this mega-star summit: a remake of the - comedy classic, Uptown Saturday Night to be directed by Anchorman: The Legend Continues- helmer .

Now, Variety is finally delivering an update on the project.

, the director of The Five-Year Engagement and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, will do a rewrite on the screenplay for Uptown Saturday Night. The most recent draft was written by Timothy Dowling, who is responsible for Role Models, Just Go With It and This Means War... thank God someone is doing a rewrite!

How long will we have to wait for this Denzel - Big Willie starrer you may ask?

Well, Stoller is hoping to deliver his draft next month, with Warner Bros. understandably keen on getting this sucker made as quick as possible.

My mildly qualified guess would be a summer 2015 release date.

The original Uptown Saturday Night centered on two friends who decide to check out an illegal nightclub. That the place is robbed, however, turns out extra-bad luck for the two, as one of the friends later finds out that he had a winning lottery ticket in his wallet. In order to get it back they have to go on an odyssey which will lead them to encounter hustlers, crooks and all sorts of oddball characters.
