The Godfather of The Godfather trilogy, , is set to revisit his Italian-American roots for his next directorial effort. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the legendary director is working on an as-yet untitled film that will "chronicle an Italian-American family and span from the 1930s to the 1960s." Coppoloa is currently writing the screenplay, described as a "coming-of-age story that focuses on a boy and girl in their late teens."

Coppola is one of Hollywood's most innovative and influential directors who made his name with Oscar-winning gangster epic The Godfather in 1972. This new movie will mark Coppola's first movie about the Italian-American story since 1990's The Godfather III.
