British horror aficionado (Dog Soldiers, The Descent, Doomsday) has just been confirmed as the new writer and director for the English language remake of Norwegian found footage horror .
Marshall is due to begin working on the remake in early 2014, once he has returned from directing arguably Game of Thrones Season 4's biggest episode.
However, he'll also be straddling into the screenwriter's chair (do they even get a chair?) by conducting a director's pass of the script written by Marc Haimes.
Troll Hunter is the latest Scandinavian horror to get an English language remake. The 2010 André Øvredal-directed original followed a group of students as they attempted to discover the causes of some rather bizarre bear killings. Now, I don't know about you, but I think anything which kills bears for lunch is definitely something best left alone.
