There may be an ongoing debate over whether or not Daenerys Targaryen is the rightful queen of Westeros, but there's no doubt that in the real world, Emilia Clarke is queen of social media. The actor often posts humorous videos, behind-the-scenes snaps and even recently showed off her new hair color, which resembles that of her amazing Game Of Thrones character, on her Instagram. Now, Clarke has taken her awesomeness to the next level. A video recently surfaced online of the actor, in her Game of Thrones character, delivering a powerful message of support for Strictly Come Dancing (the UK's answer to Dancing With the Stars) contestant Susan Calman.
Calman is set to take to the dance floor this coming week on the dancing competition show and she's caught the eye of Clarke, who felt compelled to send her some warm wishes of luck. In the video, Clarke appears to be in her full #DaenerysTargaryen costume while on the #GameOfThrones set, delivering a very stately message of good luck and endorsement for Calman's upcoming performance. Calman's professional dance partner on the show, Kevin Clifton, shared the video on his Instagram page, while Calman herself posted the video on Twitter. Check it out below:
In the special video message, Clarke (or should we say Daenerys?) wishes Calman and "adorable" Clifton good luck, telling the twosome that she wants them to win with a look of determination in her eyes that Khaleesi would be proud of. She then tells the comedian that she believes in her and finishes out the message with a cheeky wink. Calman was understandably elated at Clarke's special message and, considering Daenerys has rarely lost in battle, this is exactly the type of winning support the comedian probably needed heading into the coming week's live show. Let's hope the talent show judges feel the same way, otherwise they might get a visit from Daenerys's terrifying dragons.
Strictly Come Dancing, which is the original British version of Dancing With The Stars, is somewhat of a national institution in the UK, pulling in record-breaking viewers week after week. Calman is one of thirteen celebrities competing for the glitterball trophy. This week, the comedian is set to dance the foxtrot to Queen classic "Killer Queen" while dressed as Daenerys and Clifton will be dressed as Jon Snow. This special performance is part of the two-part Strictly Come Dancing Halloween special.
The eighth and final season of Game Of Thrones is still a long way off, but I'm delighted to see Clarke embracing her inner Daenerys for this hilarious video. Clarke may portray the Mother of Dragons on TV, but this video proved once again that the actor is also the mother of social media. What else can we do except bend the knee and pledge allegiance to our queen, who continues to slay in every way possible?
