The Seven Kingdoms of Westeros might be on the brink of a major war with one another, but they have another threat on the horizon — of the frozen variety. Along with the action-packed second trailer for Game of Throne's upcoming seventh season, HBO has released a series of icy character posters. Winter is here for our favorites from Westeros and you can see it in their eyes, as the posters reveal the Night King in all of his white walker glory.
There are 12 #GOT character posters in total, hinting at the major players in the war-fueled upcoming season. At the forefront we have Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), the Mad Queen Cersei (Lena Headey) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage):
The rest of the Stark family — including Sansa (Sophie Turner), Arya (Maisie Williams), Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) — are present, as they will remain major players. Fingers crossed for that long-awaited Stark sibling reunion.
It seems as though Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen), Jaime (Nikolaj Coster Waldau) and Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) will be integral to the battle for Westeros. Many fans might enjoy the fact that Tormund (Kristofer Hivju) was included — here's hoping we get the Brienne-Tormund romance we have all been begging for.
Another surprising character present is Theon (Alfie Allen). We know that the Greyjoy family has a major role in the impending war, but one might think we would see Euron (Pilou Asbæk) as he is said to be the next villain, even rumored to be worse than Ramsay.
I was hoping that the Hound (Rory McCann) would be included in the mix, but hopefully we'll see him before long in the actual season. Fans certainly have a lot to look forward to and thankfully we don't have much longer to wait.
Game of Thrones season 7 premieres July 16, 2017 on HBO.
