After Game Of Thrones delivered a jaw-dropping episode two weeks ago, we really thought we'd seen it all. I mean, how does one outdo a dragon attack on a Lannister army? As usual, Game Of Thrones answered that exact question with Sunday night's newest, spine-tingling installment that proved to be quite possibly the best episode yet.
As has been the case with every episode of the current season of #GameOfThrones, the internet was unable to handle the sheer awesomeness of the latest episode, "Beyond The Wall." Taking to Twitter in full force, fans of the hit #HBO series wasted no time in posting their reactions to the jaw-dropping episode. Let's take a look at some of the best reactions below.
Note: This post contains heavy spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 7, Episode 6.
The Wight Bear
If dead men weren't scary enough for you, then the Wight bear that appeared out of nowhere in this episode will certainly do the trick. As you can imagine, the internet freaked out at the animal. Take a look at the best below:
Thoros Of Myr Dies
After getting attacked by the wight bear, Thoros was struggling in the cold atmosphere with his wounds on show. Beric used his flaming sword to cauterize the wounds but unfortunately Thoros didn't make it through the night. While surrounded by an army of wights, Beric was saddened to discover that his best friend had passed away. Surprisingly, this wasn't the only death in the episode, or the biggest death for that matter. However, the internet was incredibly emotional over Thoros's passing and took to social media to express their sadness.
Daenerys Saves The Day
While Jon and his army were surrounded by a deadly army of wights, it looked like the end was in sight for the King in the North. However, to their surprise Daenerys arrived with her three dragons in tow, taking out many of the wights. It was an awe-inspiring moment that set the internet on fire as Dany proved once and for all that she is not her father by putting her life in danger for the greater good. The internet was full of praise for Dany who was, without a doubt, this week's #GoT MVP. Check out the reactions below:
After Dany's arrival, the Night King wasn't too keen on the prospect of losing the battle. In an attempt to even the odds, the leader of the undead army picked up a sharp ice spear and threw it into the air, aiming for one of Dany's children. Unfortunately, the ice arrow hit Viserion, causing the large beast to scream in agony as he fell to his death. As you can imagine, social media users were incredibly emotional after this and took to Twitter to voice their sadness:
Jon Bends The Knee
After several weeks of "will he or won't he", Jon Snow finally bent the knee for his queen, Daenerys, after she saved him and his people in battle. The two characters shared a loving moment together, and the internet was having some serious feels over this pairing. I mean, all familial ties aside, how could you not ship these two together?
After arguably the greatest episode of Game Of Thrones ever, fans are now left waiting to see what's in store for our Westerosi protagonists when Game of Thrones Season 7 reaches its (no doubt) jaw-dropping conclusion next week. How they could ever top that episode, we'll never know but one thing's for sure: Westeros is never going to be the same again.
The Game Of Thrones Season 7 finale airs Sunday August 27 on HBO.
