There's a lot to dig into with the new Game of Thrones Season 7 trailer. We have virtually nothing to glean from the books at this point, since most of everything we're seeing is unknown territory, just as it was in Season 6 for the most part.
Last season, the War of Westeros reached its opening stages with Daenerys Targaryen sending her fleet of Dothraki, Dornishmen, Greyjoys (well, some of them), Unsullied, Second Sons, and of course, Tyrion Lannister and Varys toward Westeros. And the fans breathed out a sigh of relief finally ... before realizing we'd have a year-long hiatus.
The "Lannisters who count" remain in King's Landing, as Cersei sits the Iron Throne with her brother Jaime Lannister standing by her side. Surrounded by enemies, which now include Euron Greyjoy's fleets (for now) and the North, led by Jon Snow and Sansa Stark, Cersei will have to go to extreme lengths to maintain her grip on power.
There's a lot to dig into with this trailer, which is why I made a full video detailing my theories and speculation for what we just watched:
Let me know if you agree or disagree with any of what's discussed in the video. And be sure to point out any details I (probably) missed. See you all in July!
Game of Thrones Season 7 premieres July 6th, 2017.
