Just why is silver fox George Clooney so appealing to the ladies of Tinseltown? Could it be that mischievous sparkle in his eyes? His toothpaste ad smile? His exquisitely tailored suits? Or his tight, wrinkle-free balls?
Wait - what?
In a 2008 interview with Esquire magazine, Clooney joked that he'd had some work done. Not his face, but to his George Juniors.
'I did get my balls done...I got them unwrinkled. It's the new thing in Hollywood - ball ironing.'
Reportedly inspired by the joke, the Santa Monica based Beauty Park Medical Spa has started offering a 'tackle-tightening' service, which does pretty much what it says on the tin: "Down there the skin ages, it's a thinner skin like that around the eyes," a cosmetics expert explained to the Daily Mail, adding that the $575 treatment is non-surgical. "Men are becoming more comfortable with their grooming habits."
Apparently, post Clooney's gag in Esquire, her male clientele shot up from 15% to 40%.
Beauty Park Medical Spa founder Nurse Jamie had this to say to ball-ironing doubting Thomases:
"They thought the Brazilian bikini wax was crazy ten years ago and now it’s just part of the process," she said. "The tide is turning – don’t knock it until you try it."
So, if you're a gentlemen of a mature vintage whose crown jewels don't have the same lustre they used to, head on down to Santa Monica for a medical treatment with a difference!
