If you're a fan of , Poison Ivy or Catwoman, your dreams are about to come true: The Gotham City Sirens movie is officially in the works! The release date for the film is currently unknown, but we certainly have something to get excited about.

The female-led team of villains was created in 2009 by Paul Dini and Guillem March. Their 26-issue series was met with an extremely positive response. With that being said, let's take a look at some of the Gotham City Sirens' most notable moments, right from the pages of their comics.

1. The Team Is Formed

Upon noticing Harley and Ivy's repetitive, villainous antics, Catwoman came to a realization: The three of them have been living a life of crime for too long. The only way to survive the harsh streets of Gotham is to band together. Harley and Ivy eventually came around to the idea, and the Gotham City Sirens began.

2. Questioning Batman's Identity

Though Harley and Ivy committed to being a team, something important was still lurking in their minds. Selina is one of few characters who knows the actual identity of , and the rest of the team felt deserving enough to be let in on the secret. Ivy used a truth powder on her, convinced it would make Selina reveal the Caped Crusader. However, due to a mind control-rejecting technique Selina learned, it was impossible for her to disclose that information. The question (and hopeful reveal) of Batman's identity remained a central plot in the series.

3. A Team-Up With Talia al Ghul And Zatanna

When Selina was abducted, Harley and Ivy had no choice but to rescue her. However, they couldn't do so without the help of Talia and Zatanna. With their assistance, they discovered how to defeat the kidnapper and save Selina. Apparently, Talia will not have an appearance in the anytime soon, but you never know what could happen.

4. Harley Goes Back To The Joker, Again

Giving Selina relationship advice only fueled Harley's rage towards her ex-boyfriend. She disregards the help of her friends and heads straight to Arkham Asylum with one goal — bringing the Joker to his death.

But instead of murdering him, she chose to help him escape. This demonstrates how unhealthy their relationship is, which was unexplored in Suicide Squad. If this plot is included in Gotham City Sirens, Jared Leto could definitely return. What the writers should focus on is creating a positive support system for Harley, which Ivy and Selina always provide.

5. Is Ivy In Love?

Are Harley and Ivy just friends, or more? We all know the latter was officially confirmed, but when Gotham City Sirens was released, their relationship had not been thoroughly explored. Depicting them as a couple in the movie could be extremely important, as it shows Harley in a healthy, supportive environment. It would also be a step forward for LGBT representation in film.

6. Was There A Motive Behind The Gotham City Sirens?

In the end of the series, Catwoman reveals that she wanted to save Harley and Ivy. She used her connection with Batman to keep them from getting arrested. Most importantly, she saw the good in them. Although the team doesn't always get along, they truly care about each other deep down.

Honorable Mention: An Impromptu Road Trip

This event was not part of Gotham City Sirens, but rather, Harley Quinn Road Trip Special #1. In this exclusive comic, Harley was dealing with the loss of her uncle. Ivy and Catwoman were there for her every step of the way. Although the trip was filled with wild antics, this comic proved how strong these characters are as a team.

Now the question is, will the movie go its own way, or directly follow the plot of the comics? Only time will tell.

Of course, we still hope that Margot Robbie continues to bring plenty of her Harley shenanigans to the film:
