As we await the debut of what may or may not be Gotham City Sirens in the convoluted DCEU ─ Fox will give fans a taste of what we can expect. According to TV Line, the Siren's origin will be told in Gotham Season 4. This hot take comes fresh off the heels of finding out the Jim Gordon will be hunting down the aspiring vigilante, Bruce Wayne. As we patiently await the fourth season debut, we now know Bruce won't be the only one coming into his own.

The evolution of Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) is just as intriguing as Bruce Wayne's, but unlike Bruce, Selina has always kind of knew who she was. After all, she is nicknamed Cat because of her skills. Beyond that, she's roamed the streets for a while now, learning from Gotham's most notorious criminals and befriending some of them. In fact, as the third season came to a close, we saw her team up with Tabitha, where she wielded her signature whip and looked like a pro doing so ─ turns out that was just the beginning. According to producer Danny Cannon, the birth of the Siren's starts with Selina Kyle growing into a woman:

"Selina’s alliance with Tabitha is all part of “building up the Sirens’ origin story... Barbara and Ivy included. We’ll be watching Selina turn into a woman, but what kind of woman will she be? Vengeful and resentful, or somebody of amazing potential?"

Fans of are familiar with the difficulties of understanding which side Selina Kyle, a.k.a. , plays for. Just like in the show, Selina of the comics grew in slums of Gotham, but unlike the show, some origin stories for Selina say she prostitution as a way to make some cash. There were times in the comics when she's depicted as a major criminal, an extraordinarily skilled "cat burglar" with a moral code but with selfish tendencies. Then there's the forgotten side of Selina: the shrewd, independent woman who used blackmail to climb the corporate ladder. Even in this iteration, she still wanted to rescue troubled young women, including her sister Maggie.

When Gotham needed her most, after the death of Bruce Wayne, she would led Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy in an effort to save their city. As of late, Catwoman has been doing her best to help protect the city of Gotham as more of an anti-hero. As Gotham's fourth season approaches, we'll get to see which version of Catwoman Selina Kyle will be this time, and either way, her journey will be a delight to watch. One thing is for sure: next season we will see the birth of the Siren's, all thanks to Selina.

Gotham will return to Fox on Thursday, September 21. Will you be watching?
