This article contains spoilers from Gotham Season 3.
#Gotham may occasionally deviate from the #Batman source material, but that hasn't prevented the hit Fox drama from furthering crucial elements of the Dark Knight's mythology. In fact, the third season has introduced several important #DC characters, including the Mad Hatter, and it saw the return of future Joker, Jerome Valeska.
The hit series returns from its midseason hiatus next week and Fox has released a brand new trailer to tide us over until then. Season 3 has been pretty action packed but, if this trailer is anything to go by, it looks like things are going to get even better as Bruce becomes the hero he is destined to be. Watch it below:

A Hero Is Born
There have been a lot of transformations on Gotham this season, from Jerome's to Barbara's, but none have been greater than Bruce Wayne's. The young orphan has been on a journey to discover who killed his parents since the first season of the show, and this season he's grown stronger, both emotionally and physically.
While anyone that has ever picked up a comic book is aware that Bruce will become Batman, we haven't really seen any signs of it on Gotham until this season. From going on secret missions with Selina to singlehandedly taking out Jerome, Bruce has come a long way — and as we can see from the new trailer, his transformation will continue when the hit series returns to screens next week.
Moreover, new Season 3 images revealed a bloodied Bruce, suggesting that the young boy is no longer afraid of taking on the bad guys.
Let's not forget that the winter finale saw Bruce develop his Batman code of conduct — a.k.a the "no kill" rule that has become synonymous with the Batman character — which means that he's thinking more about how he intends to get justice for his parents. This new trailer shows the young boy working with new faces, one of which may be the villainous Ra's Al Ghul and, as he steps up to take on the Court Of Owls, it's becoming more and more clear that Bruce is taking major steps in his journey to become a hero.
Gotham returns Monday, April 24th.
