People magazine is reporting that Gotham co-stars Ben McKenzie and Morena Baccarin tied the not last Friday on Baccarin's 38th birthday. The ceremony at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in New York was an intimate affair, with only their families and select close friends present.

The two were officially engaged for seven months prior to their wedding, openly sharing their love for one another in interviews and on social media. Talking with People, Baccarin mentioned how supportive McKenzie was during her pregnancy, and how much she values his warmth and personality:

“Ben’s the sweetest… It’s very nice to work with your significant other, especially when you’re pregnant because you know you’ll get some extra TLC and get taken care of.”

In Fox's , Brazilian-born Baccarin and McKenzie play Leslie Thompkins and James Gordon, respectively. The two have amazing on-screen chemistry, with their romance helping to ground the world of the series, which is filled with the most notorious villains from Batman's rogues gallery.

It was first reported in 2015 that Baccarin and McKenzie's on-screen romance had spilled into real life, with the two spotted canoodling at Emmys after-parties that September. Since then, the couple has welcomed their first child Frances, who is now 15-months-old.

The newlyweds have endured a number of controversies during their relationship, but despite the drama with Baccarin’s ex-husband Austin Chick — who she divorced in 2016 and is the father of her three-year-old son Julius — the two have managed to weather the storm.

Baccarin and McKenzie are adorable together and we wish the couple a heartfelt congratulation on their new marriage. Gotham is currently on hiatus for the summer, but Baccarin will next reprise her role as Wade Wilson’s love interest Vanessa in the highly anticipated sequel to the 2016 smash hit .

Deadpool 2 is set to hit theaters on June 1, 2018. Send your love to the newlyweds in the comments section below.
