Grand Theft Westeros would probably the most amazing video game to ever be made, if it ever were. A fusion of #GameOfThrones and #GTA would blow minds, break records and probably lead to a worldwide outbreak of never-wanting-to-leave-the-house-itis.
It's a real disease, I swear.
Thanks to amazing artist Mike Wrobel we are all one step closer to making this head cannon something of a reality. His rendition of popular #GameOfThrones characters in retro '80s/'90s-style get ups are a complete wonder to behold. And, fittingly, the illustration style is pretty close to the Grand Theft Auto game cover style.
Due to my complete love for both of these franchises I had some thoughts on how these two media giants could meet up. With the power struggles, manipulation, weapons, sex and violence , these two were meant to be together. So, what would this game be actually like?
1. The Northern District
Jonny Snow, the King of the 'North', a rebellious gang consisting of the worst outcasts, hooligans and lunatics the district could offer. After a city wide power struggle led to most of his family being murdered by the Barathalino crime family, he must prove himself to have the skills of a leader to gain back his lost territory.
Other groups are coming to test 'The North', all sorts of scumbags are trying to push their influence into the Northern District.
Ramsay Snow, a cocaine pushing, sadistic, megalomaniac is on his way and it ain't gonna be pretty! Ramsay will murder anyone in order to impress his equally menacing father, and that may just lead to the biggest instance of criminal warfare that Westeros City has ever seen.
Players hidden in the shadows always lurk for power. For some, squabbles of gangs over pieces of land are far too minor, as winter is coming and a particular group is coming to take it all...
2. King's Landing, Westeros City
The heart of Westeros City is where the true villainy lies. The joint forces of both the aristocratic Lannister's and Barathalino crime family nearly brought this place to ruins. With Bobby Barathalino dead and corrupt Police Commissioner Lannister recently following, the only sane people have lost the reins and now madness engulfs the streets.
The witty, cunning (and very alcohol induced) Tyri 'The Half-Man' Lannister must play the political game, whilst outwitting every drug dealer and murderer this side of Essos in order to keep this unstable criminal syndicate from crashing down upon him.
Undercover officers, Sergeant Jaimie Lannister and Constable Bronn Flynn are deep into an investigation into the ruthless all-female biker gang known as the 'Sand Snakes'. Behind enemy lines and condemned if caught, this classified task may change everything.
Lannisport Ltd. is facing a hostile takeover. Never looking past revenge, Cersei's mind is warped by the newest and home-made drug, 'Wildfire'. With a vast family fortune and no responsibility she's got the madness on her mind. This creates the perfect scene for criminal anarchy.
3. International Connections
Dany Targaryen, daughter of an insane Kingpin, fled with a bloodthirsty mobster. The proud mother of three (fire breathing, of course) ferrets will do anything to climb to the top of Westeros City again.
Through grit and cunning she has found herself at the helm of a huge foreign organization of henchman and thieves, just what she needs in order to draw blood (and fire).
The Targaryen family used to reign supreme in this city of sin and depravity. Until the mob war with the Barathalino's turned the criminal underbelly inside out.
Dany has found guidance with disgraced ex hitman Jorah and assistance with her gun runner/lieutenant Grey Worm. Next stop, Westeros City.
4. When You Play, You Die.
The Tyrell's run the biggest narcotics ring in the state, all being pumped out from HIGHgarden(*cough cough*). By using a front of a recycling company, this coupled with the help of Lannisport Ltd's distribution contacts, this venture has become very profitable indeed.
Maggie Tyrell is infamous for using seduction and 'medical' lacing in order to climb the ladder of the underworld. The Tyrell's may not be the most notorious of groups but one must remember, every rose has its thorns.
Mr. Baelish is an extremely ambitious man. Rising through the ranks of white collar crime and establishing the revered "Little Finger" chain of popular strip clubs. He has become an entrepreneurial force to be reckoned within the city and doesn't mind to dabble with the odd assassination or human trafficking to made a little extra profit.
However, money is not everything to Baelish, this charismatic scoundrel has his eyes set on a much greater prize.
Game of Vice? Grand Theft Westeros?
Whatever you may call this, the concept is awesome! Please check out more of Mike Wrobels' great art here. There is a lot of fantastic work that I think everybody will enjoy!
Here are just my two cents on how the #GameOfThrones cast could be adapted into the modern world to fit a more #GTA setting, I may have got carried away in adapting the story but thats just part of the fun, right?
What other kinds of Game of Thrones & video game crossovers would you like to see?
