If you are not afraid to dance, well prepare, 'cause you are about to be hooked on a feeling. As the May 5 release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 nears closer the wonderful people at #Marvel Studios are gearing up the hype train with more galactic goodness.
Director James Gunn just revealed a whole heap of various character posters from the upcoming film and they're out of this world, obviously.
Check out the awesome images below.
1. Ego The Living Planet
- Portrayed by: Kurt Russell
When doesn't the legendary Kurt Russell look like a cosmic god? Russell is playing the character Ego the Living Planet, who is indeed a sentient planet. Something tells me that "the talk" between Ego and Star-Lord will be more awkward than usual.
2. Rocket Raccoon
- Voiced by: Bradley Cooper
If you wanted the Rocket Raccoon poster of your dreams, here it is! Donning a badass gun and with his menacing face of doom, Rocket looks like he's ready to bring the galaxy down if the prize is high enough. And whoever said pink wasn't cool?
- Portrayed by: Elizabeth Debicki
Many are calling Hela from #ThorRagnarok the first MCU female villain, but don't forget that Ayesha is set to be one of the Guardian's toughest villains yet. The golden perfect being is the leader of an elite group of people, the Sovereign, but director James Gunn couldn't have described her better when he said:
Ayesha is the golden High Priestess of a genetically-perfect people called the Sovereign. She’s not a woman to be screwed with – she, and her entire world, are extraordinarily deadly.
- Portrayed by: Dave Bautista (Batista)
Remember, to Drax, "finger to the throat means death... Again!" That's exactly what Bautista posted on his Facebook and we couldn't be more excited for one of the MCU's most interesting characters. We are speaking about the guy that broke the internet when he laughed his ass off hearing Star-Lord's deepest, darkest secret. Can it get funnier than that? Oh, I think it will.
(Relive that moment in the trailer below)
- Portrayed by: Zoe Saldana
Daughter of Thanos, lover of Star-Lord and the deadliest Guardian in the Galaxy, Gamora's character poster is simply awesome! We'll finally get to see her wield her famous sword from the comics in Vol. 2 and a massive gun that would make even Rocket jealous.
- Portrayed by: Pom Klementieff
The newest member of the team is Mantis. She was raised by Ego and is essentially Star-Lord's half-sister. Her powers include the ability to sense the emotions of others, as we saw in Drax's epic laughing scene.
- Portrayed by: Michael Rooker
The former Ravager leader is not a Ravager anymore as he is joining the Guardians in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. This time he is also donning his fin as he did in Marvel Comics in the comic book bronze age.
- Portrayed by: Karen Gillan
Gamora's sister, Nebula, is also joining the team in Vol. 2. Based on the trailers Nebula seems to be a prisoner of the Sovereign. It'll be quite a spectacle seeing the two sisters reunite again.
9. Baby Groot
- Voiced by: Vin Diesel
The Guardians' most valuable player, Baby Groot is about to bring the heat on May 5. Out of all the posters this one has to be the best. Just look at how cute the little guy looks!
- Portrayed by: Chris Pratt
The leader of the pack, Peter Quill/Star-Lord is back in action in Vol.2 and the stakes are even higher. Will the Guardians of the Galaxy save the Galaxy, again? Find out May 5!
