This article contains potential spoilers for Season 3, Episode 19 of The Flash.
Tom Cavanagh has shown the world his acting prowess over and over again, having played a different character in each season of #TheFlash (and having played those characters brilliantly to make each of them stand out). The Flash is currently on almost a month-long hiatus. But when the show returns on April 25th, we'll get to see whether he's a brilliant director as well.
Cavanagh will be in the director's chair for the next episode of The Flash, titled "The Once and Future Flash." Having spent three seasons as a fellow cast member, Cavanagh might just be able to get the best out of Grant Gustin and the rest of The Flash actors. And Cavanagh may also get to direct some surprising faces too.
In the closing moments of this week's episode of The Flash, Barry comes to the conclusion that the likes of Eobard Thawne (a.k.a. Reverse Flash) and Savitar have always been one step ahead of him because they have seen the future — and that he needs to travel to the future in order to find out more about Savitar to stop him from killing Iris in the present. Barry didn't mention which year he was going to travel to, but the promo for the next week's episode reveals that information:
Barry is going to travel to 2024 in an episode which is set to air on April 25th. As fans know, April 25th, 2024 is the date on the newspaper from the future in Harrison Well's time vault — the headline of which reads, "Flash Missing: Vanishes In Crisis."
The byline of that article used to have Iris West-Allen's name on it. Iris' death might have changed the name on the byline, but the headline and the content still remained the same. And since it did, get ready for some well-known faces from the other shows of the #Arrowverse to show up.

Barry has read that article quite a few times over the past three seasons. He knows that the Flash vanishes on April 25th. He might choose to travel to April 24th, 2024, just before he disappears. We might get to see the events leading up to his disappearance. If you have a very strong memory, you might remember that the first few lines of the article went something like:
"After an extreme street battle with the Reverse-Flash, our city's very own Scarlet Speedster disappeared in an explosion of light. The cause of the fight is currently unknown. According to witnesses, The Flash, with help from Starling City's Green Arrow, The Atom and Hawkgirl, began fighting the Reverse Flash around midnight last night."
This means that we might get to see Stephen Amell, Matt Letscher, Brandon Routh and Ciara Ciara Renée drop by for guest appearances on The Flash. We don't know that for sure yet, but we can take a pretty good guess.
The Flash, #Arrow and #LegendsOfTomorrow are all filmed in Vancouver. Hence, Stephen Amell, Matt Letscher and Brandon Routh dropping by for a cameo on The Flash might go unnoticed. So, if the showrunners decide to keep something under wraps, it's next to impossible for the fans to find out. For example, the showrunners of DC's Legends of Tomorrow managed to keep Emily Bett Rickard's appearance on this week's episode, until Marc Guggenheim shared the concept art for Felicity's costume on Twitter.
Ciara Renée left DC's Legends of Tomorrow after its first season, and she's currently based in Los Angeles. But there's still hope.
Ciara Renée posted this picture a while back on instagram with Franz Drameh, who at that time was busy filming the Legends finale in Vancouver. Renée probably didn't travel all the way from Los Angeles to Vancouver just to meet with Franz.
What's more interesting is that Tom Cavanagh was directing Episode 19 of The Flash at the same time when Ciara Renée happened to be in Vancouver.
We'll have to wait for a month to find out whether Stephen Amell, Brandon Routh, Matt Letscher and Ciara Renée do end up making a guest appearance for Tom Cavanagh's directorial episode. 'Til then, check out Brandon Routh and Matt Letscher in the promo for the season finale of DC's Legends of Tomorrow:
