After the geektastic Comic-Con announcement that The World's Finest are set to trade blows in the Man of Steel sequel, a title for the movie has already emerged. While Hall H was losing its [email protected]%t during Warner Bros. announcement of the Supes and Caped Crusader showdown, Man of Steel scribe was in attendance at the Superman 75th Anniversary panel and revealed that the Superman sequel could have one of two names, either Batman vs. Superman or Superman vs. Batman.
Here's what Goyer had to say:
So over in Hall H at the Warner Bros.–I guess most people know now–at the end of the Warner Bros. panel, Zack came out and he brought Harry Lennix, who plays General Swanwick in Man of Steel and we–actually, Harry read a bit from [The Dark Knight Returns] and so the next film we’re making, we’re already in pre-production, comes out in summer of 2015 and it’s–we’re actually not sure whether the title is Superman vs. Batman or Batman vs. Superman but yes, it’s–that rematch, that combination, the two guys onscreen and that’s happening.
The guys over at ComicBook.com have done some super scooping and discovered that the domain names SupermanVsBatman.com and BatmanVsSuperman.com have both been acquired by Warner Bros. However when you add "movie" to the domain name only BatmanVsSupermanMovie.com has been bought. So using my expert powers of deduction, it seems that the Man of Steel sequel is going to be called Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
No official confirmation has come out of Warner Bros. so far, but this title certainly fits to what Goyer revealed at Comic-Con.
What say you? Is Batman vs. Superman a good choice of movie title? Let me know what you think in the comments section below.
