Tywin Lannister is one of the most enigmatic characters in Game Of Thrones. You never really know what's going on behind that wry smile and that mischievousness twinkle in his eye. Did he know it was Arya all along? Does he know about Jaime and Cersei? What does he have planned for Tyrion? Tywin has managed to keep the answer to all these questions secret.

Luckily for Game of Thrones fan, it seems , who plays Tywin, is not so secretive. During the press circuit for the season 2 DVD release, he inadvertently released news about Game of Thrones season 4. According to Den of Geek, here's what he said:

We’re about to start season four aren't we? This year. We get scripts pretty early on, much earlier on than in similar series, usually you get perhaps one episode and you just have to trust that what’s going to come in subsequent episodes is going to be as good as the one you've got, but in this I think there are six scripts already written, and we will probably be able to see them with more than adequate time to prepare before we start shooting.

But why the big deal? Wasn't we always going to get a Game of Thrones season 4? Well, yes, probably, but HBO have yet to officially announce anything about the continuing saga of Westeros. You don't have to be an experienced commissioning editor to know Game of Thrones is one cash-cow you do not want to kill. Still, the TV industry is an odd business. Unless something has been officially announced, all common-sense regarding it is put on a hiatus.

Basically, we all knew season 4 was coming, and he's some extra proof just in case you are a particularly cynical pessimist. After his comments a HBO representative jumped on stage to reiterate that they have not officially signed off on any further seasons. Presumably this means those scripts Dance was talking about are just figments of his imagination? Furthermore, if Dance is reading season 4 scripts, I guess this means Tywin Lannister will not meet his end in season 3, an impressive feat in Game of Thrones.

What do you think? Who else do you want to see return in season 4 (which does not officially exist, but totally does)? Let us know below.
