The wise-cracking, foul-mouthed police officer, Axel Foley is soon to be back in Beverly Hills. is going to team up with with Paramount Pictures to produce The Beverly Hills Cop reboot. According to Deadline, the producer has signed a three-year first-look deal with the studio, set to begin next April.
The prolific Pirates of the Caribbean producer, has recently ended his two year partnership with Disney. The studio announced in September that they would not renew their contract after The Lone Ranger had lost $190 million and turned out to be a huge budget fiasco.
The first mutual project between Bruckheimer and Paramount is going to be the new Beverly Hills Cop movie, the fourth instalment of the franchise. The original was one of Paramount’s biggest success in the 1980's, which Bruckenheimer produced with his late producing partner Don Simpson (their last mutual project was Days Of Thunder.) is going to return as foul-mouthed police officer Axel Foley, the role that had brought him international stardom. Director is reported to helm the project, as soon as he has completed his directorial duties for his new movie, Hercules. Beverly Hills Cop 4 is expected for next summer.
Bruckenheimer will also produce the sequel of another 80's cult movie. According to Deadline, Top Gun 2 is being developed by Skydance Productions. So not only Eddie Murphy; but also is about to reprise his legendary role. He is going to return as the pilot, Maverick.
