In the 2013-2014 US TV sweepstakes, Sleepy Hollow is looking hot!
Now, two new TV spots have debuted as the fall TV season approaches. Both are short, and packed with intrigue, even if they don't show us much more than we'd already seen.
It's an interesting premise, and the buddy cop-esque camaraderie between Crane and the police officer has palpable energy. But, from this footage alone, does it not seem like the show is milking it's 'man from 1800's in the modern-day premise' with clunky comments? 'Err...who is Captain America?' Or his comment to his black female associate: 'You've been emancipated I take it. From enslavement?' I don't want the entire season of Sleepy Hollow to consist of Crane remarking on modern cultures with amusement/bemusement. It feels a little bit like lazy scripting. Anyway, it still looks action-packed and a good bet for FOX this fall season.
"From co-creators/executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (the Star Trek and Transformers franchises, “Fringe”), the thrilling new action-adventure “Sleep Hollow” is a modern-day retelling of Washington Irving’s classic. Ichabod Crane () is resurrected and pulled two and a half centuries through time to find that the world is on the brink of destruction and that he is humanity’s last hope, forcing him to team up with a contemporary police officer () to unravel a mystery that dates all the way back to the founding fathers."
