Homeland Season 3 came to an exhilarating close on Sunday night and although the show will be returning for a fourth season next year, it's now time to say goodbye - at least temporarily - to a couple of familiar faces.

Showtime has announced that and , who play Brody's estranged-wife Jessica and daughter Dana respectively, will not be back as cast regulars in Season 4.

To be honest, this is no great surprise. Both Baccarin and Saylor have had reduced roles in Season 3 as the action moved away from Brody's home life to focus more on the fact that he was wanted for blowing up a bunch of people at the CIA headquarters. It's tough to maintain a healthy family life when you're the most wanted man on the planet.

Are you sad that mother/daughter have been bumped down or do you feel it was time for them to depart? Let me know what you think in the comment section below.
