With the #CW superhero shows still on their winter break, now is the perfect time to speculate on the future of the Arrowverse. #TheFlash has had a rollercoaster of a season, between Wally, Jesse and Caitlyn getting powers, repercussions from Flashpoint, Alchemy and Savitar, and finally Barry and Iris moving in together! However, trouble is on the horizon for Team Flash, with Barry accidentally witnessing Iris's death at the hands of Savitar in five months time, he is more determined than ever to fight nature itself and change the future.
Now, Flashpoint has happened and appears to be done with, but what if it isn't quite finished yet? If Iris were to die, isn't it possible that Barry, in his rage, could turn back time again to save her, changing a whole lot more than he did when he created the original Flashpoint? What if we saw something much more similar to the #Flashpoint storyline in the comics? Here are five changes we could see in a revamp of Flashpoint.
1. Citizen Cold
In the original Flashpoint storyline, instead of the Flash being the hero of Central City, Captain Cold was the standard bearer instead. With Snart supposedly dead in the #Arrowverse this would be a fascinating return for him, and it would be hilarious to see the Flash finding out that Snart is a hero.
2. The Other Arrow
While we have seen alternate universes where an elderly Oliver Queen is the Green Arrow and one where John Diggle is the Green Arrow, we haven't yet seen one where Robert Queen, Oliver's father, took on the role for himself. In the original Flashpoint, Batman was actually Thomas Wayne, and it makes sense to do this with Green Arrow in this version of Flashpoint because Oliver could easily have died when the Queen's Gambit went down, leaving Robert to survive on the island and return to take down the list of people he gave Oliver instead.
3. Evil Supergirl
During the "Invasion" crossover, Supergirl mentioned that the Dominators were known on Krypton. This opens up a lot of doors, because it means Krypton could exist and still be intact in the universe of Earth-1. Now, what if Flash created a universe where Supergirl did land on Earth but was raised by the wrong kind of people? What if someone like the Luthor family found her and raised her? She would have a pretty twisted view of the world, and could stand against the other heroes. This was teased slightly during "Invasion" by the other heroes' training, trying to work together to take down Supergirl.
4. HIVE Vs. League Of Assassins
We never got to see an all-out war between Damien Darkh's HIVE organization and the League of Assassins (which is unfortunate because it could have been amazing), but say that Robert Queen (and whoever he was left to work with) fought to try and keep the civilians of Star City safe against the battles raging in the streets between the two factions? The epic war could be a focal point for the events of Flashpoint, as either side could attempt total destruction of the city to win the war.
5. President Merlyn?
If Damien Darhk and Ra's al Ghul were still in charge of their respective organizations in this universe, who is to say that #MalcolmMerlyn may not have continued to lead his own company and eventually have broken into politics to become President? This would be brilliant, although Barry has never had any significant relationship with Malcolm, so it could be that the Legends, while traveling through time, become trapped in Flashpoint as well? This would allow for a lot more story to be told, as the Legends have personal connections with many of the people who would be changed within Flashpoint.
