The very first tickets for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire went on an online pre-sale last October 1st.

In the first two hours where they were available, tickets for the sequel to the successful 2012 film The Hunger Games — the first installment of a four-movie-saga (based on the bestselling young adult trilogy penned by Suzanne Collins) — represented 35% of all tickets sold in the previous 24 hours at the popular online venue MovieTickets.com. Far from being the only online ticket sellers on the web, MovieTickets faced competition from industry rival Fandago. Both companies rolled out special promotional content, such as modest incentives (i.e. a free song download from the film's OST); with Fandango going a step further by offering additional prizes, giveaways and sweepstakes dominated by the Hunger Games theme.

Starring , , , , , , , and ; the -directed sequel explores the aftermath of the events transpired in the first film, namely Katniss' victory in the 74th Annual Hunger Games. With rebellion brewing in the districts, things get dangerous for Katniss as an enraged President Snow threatens her existence, and that of her friends.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, distributed by Lionsgate, is set to premiere on November 22nd (with limited early screenings scheduled for November 21st at 8 PM - local time).
