Since it has been confirmed by director , that the final installment of the Hunger Games trilogy will be split into two parts, the first part The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is set for release on November 21st 2014 and the second half The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2is set for release on November 20th 2015. But the question I ask myself is simply this: ‘Will it be worth it?’

We may never know if the movie will make the big time, since this is the third time we have seen a book series finale split into two movies: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was released in November 2010 and July 2011, and The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn in November 2011 and November 2012. I think it is only fair that both of these books were split to tell the entire story of their respective book with a few changes to certain scenes like the Cullen vs. Volturi battle in Breaking Dawn. But some people are saying that the filmmakers split both the books into two movies because the filmmakers want to make more money to do so.

I think it’s great that they split the final book of its respective series into two films to tell the entire story. But looking at Hunger Games, with The Hunger Games Catching Fire which is set for release in November, we see that this is to be another teen franchise that will be bigger than ever before at the box office when Mockingjay Part 2 hits theaters in November 2015. Do you think this two-part finale will beat both Harry Potter and Twilight? Let me know in the comment section.
