To avoid fainting, keep repeating 'It's only a movie...It's only a movie...'

It's that time of year again. The world's highest concentration of buff bods outside of a True Blood charity car-wash gears up to thrill teens worldwide. Yeah, you guys, it's totally the 2013 Teen Choice Awards!

It was a Salvatore vs. Salvatore humdinger in the competition for Choice TV Actor: Fantasy/Sci-Fi, but ultimately, there could only be one vampiric victor. (Damon) pipped (Stefan) to the post, gaining the much-coveted surfboard shaped award.

Somerhalder indulged in a bit of cheeky tweeting before the show, joking:

Something tells me that I'm going to see a bunch of awesome teens in just a little bit.I might even get to go surfing this evening...Maybe;)

Those vamps are a naughty bunch, but I guess if Twitter keeps them from chomping on some juvenile jugulars, then it's all good. Somerhalder must have been relieved that the night ended on a high, as his ex-girlfriend and co-star, (Elena) was also in attendance, but the gang remained consummate professionals and no major awks were to be seen. In addition to Somerhalder's teasing tweet, it seems the Salvatores may have had an inkling that victory was going Damon's way: Paul Wesley did not arrive at the ceremony at all!

Smouldering Somerhalder looked his ever-luscious, gorgeous self, his unworldly cheekbones and piercing eyes causing a case of mass swoonage throughout the audience. There is literally no cure for Somerhalder-swoon, ladies; you can't fight that foxiness. End of. As if his bodacious buffness was not enough, those perfect pecs were clad in a black tee promoting the ISF (Ian Somerhalder Foundation), his very own organization to make the world a lovelier and more awesome place. I know, he's perfect, feel free to gaze lovingly at the abs-with-a-conscience.

Somerhalder's award completes a hattrick of boards for The Vampire Diaries, with Nina Dobrev scooping Choice TV Actress: Fantasy/Sci-Fi, and The Vampire Diaries winning Choice TV Show: Fantasy/Sci-Fi. Major congrats to our fanged friends!
