Ever since Pixar released the Academy Award-winning superhero hit The Incredibles, fans have been eagerly awaiting a sequel. At long last, in 2015, director Brad Bird finally announced that he was working on The Incredibles 2, a mere 11 years after the original film's release.
Though it seems like The Incredibles 2 was sitting on Pixar's back burner for over a decade, the animation studio now appears to be balancing out that wait time by expediting the sequel's release and pushing it into theaters a whole year early.
Variety reports The Incredibles 2 will be released on June 15, 2018 as opposed to it's initial release date of June 21, 2019. Sadly, this welcome change in Pixar's slate didn't come without casualties.

In claiming the new 2018 spot, The Incredibles 2 muscled Toy Story 4 out of its June 15, 2018 slot. The Toy Story sequel has switched release date from June 15, 2018 to June 21, 2019. There is currently no word as to why these schedule changes have been made, but we will update this article as soon as we know more.
While I'm slightly disappointed we'll have to wait another year to see another Toy Story, I'd say it's well worth it if we get to see The Incredibles 2 an entire year early. We have been waiting for quite a while, after all.
The Incredibles 2 will finally reach theaters on June 15, 2018 and Toy Story 4's release has been pushed back to June 21, 2019.
Are you glad The Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4 swapped release dates?
