After Insidious: Chapter 2 scored big at the box office, opening at $41 million USD (the second biggest September debut in history), a third installment of the surprise horror franchise has been officially announced.

But don't count on director joining the fun. He tells moviefone:

I'm going to go on record and say I am finished with the horror genre. 'Conjuring' and 'Insidious 2' are my two last scary movies. Hollywood puts you in a box. While stars , and have not yet signed on to return, Insidious: Chapter 3 will be penned once again by , with producers Jason Blum and Oren Peli. Wan, however, is currently busy shooting the new Furious 7.

According to fans, there's still enough open-ended questions from the last Insidious to give audiences at least one more scare.
