Just when you thought The Walking Dead couldn't surprise you any more, it goes and knocks it out of the park. The hit AMC series returned to our screens two weeks ago, and so far Season 8 is everything we could've hoped for. This season has seen Rick take the fight to Negan by launching an attack on the villainous tyrant while simultaneously disarming several of his outposts. Not bad considering the show was criticized for its slow pacing last season.

Last week's episode of caused quite a stir online and viewers were shocked to when Morales turned up. The character had previously only featured in the first season, so it was rather shocking to see him return. The latest episode sparked a similar response from viewers, and a few shocking deaths sent the internet into meltdown.

Yes, he may have just returned to screens for the first time in seven years, but it appears that Morales was just paying a flying visit to universe. The character was killed off rather abruptly in the latest episode as Daryl turned up to save Rick. However, his death left many viewers a little cold. Check out the best reactions below:

Eric's Death

Morales wasn't the only character death in the latest episode of The Walking Dead. Eric, Aaron's beloved boyfriend, was seemingly killed after being shot and then disappearing in an area surrounded by walkers. Granted, this is The Walking Dead, so it's entirely possible that Eric never died and he could turn up in later episodes. But Aaron's reaction was enough to hit us right in the feels and it appears to have had a similar effect on the viewers. Check out some of their reactions below:

That was without a doubt another eventful episode for The Walking Dead. I don't know about you, but I really think the AMC series has found its footing again this season. Let's hope the high standard continues because, if it does, then Season 8 could be one of the strongest yet. Either way, we can't wait to see what the internet thinks of the next episode!

The Walking Dead airs Sundays on AMC.
