How many movies do we need about a gang of extreme sports junkies who turn to lives of crime? Well, Hollywood reckons we need two. Point Break and a Point Break remake.

We've heard rumors of the project for some time, with Total Recall (the new rubbish one), Equilibrium, and Law Abiding Citizen writer Kurt Wimmer on board to pen the script. However, it seems we might have our first piece of casting news.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Heat Vision, is in talks to star in the project. Apparently he might be down to play adrenaline junkie and bank-robber, Bobhi, a role originally played by Patrick Swayze.

According to the site, Butler's character will be "an expert extreme sports athlete who also seeks to find nirvana through the conquest of a series of athletic feats."

Currently, the Point Break remake will be directed by , a director who has most made his name in the cinematography departments of many forgettable action movies (with the possible exception of The Fast and the Furious).

Keanu Reeves, who played an undercover FBI cop in the original movie, is certainly not down to reappear in the remake. When asked by the BBC if he'd be appearing, he replied:

Absolutely not. It’s not my place. f they can find a way to do it that works out good, then God bless them. It sounds very exciting - but is it a good thing? I don't know.

What do you think? Do you agree with Reeves? Give us your insight below.
