Marvel is well and truly on a roll with the release of Iron Man 3 just down the road; expectations are high and the praise for the parts that have been seen even higher. That means that the good people over at Marvel Studios, like our dear who of late has been rewarding us fans with loads of tasty teasers, can pat themselves on the back. But all is not carefree happiness in Comicbookmovieville.
According to Geek Tyrant, Marvel Cinematic Universe director-darling -- he who brought us The Avengers -- is worried. It looks like Iron Man 3 might be causing him some anxiety over his in-production The Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Feige showed a recent cut of the -helmed movie to Whedon and got a seemingly unexpected reaction:
There are a lot of suits in this movie... just when he needs them, he calls them to the rescue and we have what I think is the biggest most action-packed finale we’ve had. I showed the film to Joss Whedon... and he saw the finale of this and he goes, ‘Now what am I supposed to do now? What am I going to do in Avengers 2?
I don't see why Whedon is so surprised. Had he seen the latest trailer? If he had, then none of what Feige showed him could have been a complete surprise. I mean, as an Iron Man fan I take the trailer to be just a fraction of the bombastic wave of awesome that will coming at me from the screen in the very near future.
I say: Trust yourself, Joss. You've done it once, you'll do it again, and you'll keep on doing it. Make it work. That's why you've got the job in the first place. We believe in you... but don't disappoint us.
