While we've known for some time who the director chosen to helm the reboot of the Leprechaun series would be (Spielberg protegè ) and that the exiguous titular protagonist will be portrayed by famed WWE wrestler (a.k.a. Hornswoggle), there was a lot of important casting and production information that still remained to be known. And now we've gotten some pretty interesting updates on the whole operation:

  • Actors Stephanie Bennett, Teach Grant, Bruce Blain, and Adam Boys are confirmed to be starring alongisde Postl.

  • The movie is currently in its post-production stage, having completed filming a while back ago.

  • There is a lot of secrecy surrounding the script, written by Harris Wilkinson. This covertness stems from the fact that, after six Leprechaun movies already in the sack, the franchise wants to avoid any leaks that could point to the direction this reboot will be heading.

  • We now have a tentative release date: February 28th, 2014.

What do you think of this new project? Which elements should this reboot retain from the original series? What contrasts and differences should it have? Did you enjoy the original Leprechaun (played by the versatile and inimitable )? Let us know in the comments, and we'll let you know as soon as more info comes up on Leprechaun: Origins.
