is not a filmmaker who is known for his alternate cuts and especially alternate endings. Think about it, have you ever seen "Alternate Ending" listed as a special feature on the home release of ANY of his films? Well, according to one of the stars of Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street, that trend is in serious jeopardy of being thoroughly bucked.
, who plays the first wife of 's Jordan Belfort, revealed this juicy tidbit while chatting with Vulture...
"Well, I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this — there used to be a different ending. I shot a lot of the stuff in the very beginning and I remember the ending had something to do with me coming back. Like, you never saw me, but it was about making it right for that character."
Hmmm, is what she's describing actually an alternate ending? It sounds like it could just be an excised scene that just happens to fall near the end of the film. I thought she was great in the movie, but her total screen time was rather brief. It's possible she wasn't entirely clear on the narrative structure of the movie as it was shooting, especially if there were any trimmed scenes involved.
What do you guys think?
