Spider-Man: Homecoming is a critically acclaimed box office smash, and Tom Holland is being hailed as the best live-action version of Spider-Man yet. It's easy to see why fans are drawn to Holland's performance — he's funny, charming, and (unlike Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield) seems like a real teenager.
But that's exactly why some adult viewers feel, uh, conflicted. The young actor is making fans a little hot under the collar with his two shirtless scenes (not that we're counting or anything).
As you would expect for an actor portraying a superhero, Holland is in pretty great shape — but still, when he took off his shirt in the film, viewers were amazed by the actor's rock-hard abs. Marvel movies are renowned for their lingering shots of the male physique (Chris Pratt and Paul Rudd are among the actors to shed their clothes in the MCU) and Spider-Man: Homecoming is no exception. The big difference is that Peter Parker is still a minor.

While these moviegoers where more than happy to thirst over Holland and his admirable physique, others were a little perturbed by the actor's somewhat youthful appearance — and some even worried that their attraction towards the new Spider-Man would be deemed completely inappropriate. After all, he's playing a teenager, so he must be a teenager too, right?
Fans Were Relieved To Discover Tom Holland's Real Age
Despite Holland's babyface, the actor is actually 21 years old. This means that it is 100 percent kosher for us all to crush on him! Thank goodness for that.
As you can imagine, fans were relieved to discover that their attraction to the young heartthrob is completely NOT creepy, and many social media users took to Twitter to voice this relief. Check out some of the best reactions below:
Male eye candy seems to be a huge part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and one could argue that a decent set of abs is almost as necessary to the MCU as a post-credits scene. In fact, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn joked about this during a press conference, playfully suggesting that Marvel President Kevin Feige has made it compulsory to include at least one scene of male nudity in each film.
In a strange way, these worries about Holland's age are actually a testament to the young actor's performance in Spider-Man: Homecoming. The 21-year-old played a young Peter Parker remarkably well and, as a result, it's hard to believe that he isn't a teenager himself.
So, if you found yourself hopelessly attracted to Holland during Spider-Man: Homecoming, then you can rest easy knowing that this attraction can continue without needing to feel weird about it.
