It's a Christmas miracle! It’s a Wonderful Life: The Rest of the Story, a sequel that nobody wanted, is being shut down by the studio that still holds the rights to the property. Paramount is prepared to take "appropriate steps" to protect its rights to the soppy classic, after learning that Star Partners and Hummingbird Prods were teaming up to make the sequel.

A spokesperson for Paramount had this to say to The Hollywood Reporter:

To date, these individuals have not obtained any of the necessary rights, and we would take all appropriate steps to protect those rights.

Hallelujah! I still don't understand why anybody would want to make a sequel to 's heartwarming holiday classic in the first place, but it sounds like this is no longer something we have to worry about.

The proposed sequel was set to see George Bailey's daughter Zuzu () return as an angel who pays George's grandson a visit.

I just did a little sick in my mouth thinking about.

What do you think about the sequel getting shut down?
