While promoting her latest film, The Call, Halle Berry told HitFix that she's confirmed to command the weather once again as Ororo Munroe, Mistress of the Elements:

The Oscar-winner portrayed the character in 's X-Men and X2: X-Men United, as well as 's atrocious X-Men: The Last Stand.

At this point, it's completely unknown as to when X-Men: Days Of Future Past will pick up after 's X-Men: First Class breathed new life in the series. The last time we saw Berry in the series, she became headmistress of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters after the death of main mutant, Charles Xavier, iconically played by .

It's amazing to see Bryan Singer reclaiming his X-Men throne. In my mind, Ratner was along the lines of Mr. Sinister -- I'd even go as far as calling him Apocalypse -- whose main mission in directing was to destroy the beloved universe that Singer helped create. Even though Vaughn really reinvigorated the franchise -- with a new cast in a new era, it's hard not to welcome old friends back for such an amazing storyline.

Days of Future Past will undoubtedly implore the tent-poles that make X-Men so different from the likes of Iron Man or The Avengers. The costs of our mistakes in the past could lead to internment camps, a fear expressed in the very first scene in X-Men all the way back in 2000. I almost want to add it to the reasons why I love it.

Let us know what you think of Berry's return in the comments below. While you're at it, make a plea to bring back . We eventually need a proper Phoenix Saga!
