It's amazing to see Bryan Singer reclaiming his X-Men throne. In my mind, Ratner was along the lines of Mr. Sinister -- I'd even go as far as calling him Apocalypse -- whose main mission in directing was to destroy the beloved universe that Singer helped create. Even though Vaughn really reinvigorated the franchise -- with a new cast in a new era, it's hard not to welcome old friends back for such an amazing storyline.
Days of Future Past will undoubtedly implore the tent-poles that make X-Men so different from the likes of Iron Man or The Avengers. The costs of our mistakes in the past could lead to internment camps, a fear expressed in the very first scene in X-Men all the way back in 2000. I almost want to add it to the reasons why I love it.
