A mini Star Trek reunion is in the works with teaming up with Star Trek Into Darkness star for Fox's high-concept television cop drama, Almost Human. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show is, "an action-packed buddy-cop show set in the near future, when all LAPD officers are partnered with highly evolved humanlike androids."

Urban, who was last seen shooting criminals in the face in Dredd, will play the main character John Kennex, a "respected police officer who has shut down emotionally after a tragic mission that claimed the lives of nine of his fellow elite officers and left him critically injured."

The series has been written by Fringe's , while Abrams's small screen credits include Alias, Lost and Fringe. If the show makes it past the pilot stage and gets commissioned, it will be Urban's first regular television gig since Xena: Warrior Princess back in the early 2000's. With the high quality of talent attached to the project, Human could be the next great sci-fi show we've been waiting for.
